Jamie Shalvey joined JM Goldson community preservation + planning in 2017, driven by an interest in affordable housing. A recent graduate of the University of Virginia, Jamie applies her writing and research experience to the planning and community engagement efforts of JM Goldson.
After volunteering with Habitat for Humanity’s Charlottesville chapter, Jamie’s interest in affordable housing led her to partake in Bike and Build, a cross-country cycling trip to raise money and awareness for the affordable housing crisis. On this trip, participants stopped at 13 towns along the way to volunteer at build days or at Habitat Restore. Seeing the complex form that housing issues take across the United States prompted Jamie to continue working in housing upon her relocation to Boston.
